Preemie Project Boy Hats

The Preemie Project put out a facebook cry for help the other day, they are in desperate need of baby boy newborn hats.  So...  this is what I came up with.  I am not thrilled with them all, but they will serve their purpose.  I used THIS beanie pattern - found that with H hook and simply soft yarn I need to make 7 increasing rows at the beginning.

Scrappy Round Ripple

Here is my very first round ripple baby blanket.  I have to say, I think round baby blankets are kind of dumb - but I did enjoy making it!  Super easy.  I followed the pattern from Crochet Dad - 9 pointed star round ripple. I found the pattern very easy, and after the first few rows, it was a great tv watching project.  I am using up scrap yarn - Stylecraft DK in miscellaneous colors. I just closed my eyes and reached into the box for the next color. I love the stitch definition with an H hook.  Very soft. My border is a reverse single crochet.  I think it looks nice - but it did curve my star points more than I wanted. This blanket will go to Project Linus.

Blue Soccer Balls

Here is my latest edgerydoo project.  Made as a gift.  2 yards of fleece, edged with green "I love this yarn" from Hobby Lobby.  Foundation row is sc, ch 2 around.  Row 1 is dc in each sc and ch2 sp.  Then I worked the reverse single crochet (crab stitch) in the final row.

Wolves

This is fleece my mom donated - the wild wolves!  Thought it would be appropriate for an older boy, through project linus.  I tried to keep the edging simple and masculine.  This was my first attempt at reverse single crochets - and I think it turned out well!  It flowed nicely while doing it.

The last picture I just had to include!  Those are whiskers, from my favorite kitty helper!  This project was worked with a foundation row of sc +ch 2 all around with a C hook.  Changed to a G hook, then second row was plain ole double crochets, then the third row is the reverse single crochets.
