The last picture I just had to include! Those are whiskers, from my favorite kitty helper! This project was worked with a foundation row of sc +ch 2 all around with a C hook. Changed to a G hook, then second row was plain ole double crochets, then the third row is the reverse single crochets.
These are some pictures and notes on my recent crochet projects. As most of these go to charity (Project Linus, usually) I tend to forget the patterns and designs. Most are fleece, with a crocheted edge.

Wolves
This is fleece my mom donated - the wild wolves! Thought it would be appropriate for an older boy, through project linus. I tried to keep the edging simple and masculine. This was my first attempt at reverse single crochets - and I think it turned out well! It flowed nicely while doing it.

Blue Floral
This is the blue floral blanket that I am making as a gift. Maybe. I might give it to Project Linus though. I used the pattern found here. I used Caron Simply Soft yarn, with a size C hook.

Yellow Soccer Balls
This is the blanket I just finished. I am not thrilled with the black edging, though I am not sure what other color I would have used. I am color stupid. Holes are poked with my edgerydoo, then a straight sc around 4 times, working in back loops only. This is a Christmas gift.

Dalmations
I got this fun fleece on clearance! Used my edgerydoo to poke holes, then single crocheted a straight edge, the last 3 rows working in the back loops only. I used Caron Simply Soft red yarn. This is a toddler sized blanket that will be going to Project Linus.
Alligators
This is a toddler sized fleece blanket. I used cotton yarn to edge it. Another straight edge, single crochet, working in back loops only. This will be going to Project Linus.
Pink & Brown
This pink and brown fleece has a pink straight edge. Single crochet, worked in back loops only. Putting all these blankets up online tells me that I need to branch out more, try new stitches! It is a teen sized blanket that is going to Project Linus.

Orange Tie Dye
I never knew I liked orange, but the Caron Simply Soft orange is such a nice color. Love it with this pink and orange tie dye fleece fabric. I made the blanket as a teen blanket for project linus, but the kids seem to enjoy it on the cooler fall mornings. In the last picture, you can see the stitches better. The bottom row of stitches is the "front" side, when you single crochet through back loops only. The top row is the "back" side.

Curious George
Another favorite! This Curious George pattern is so fun! Just another straight single crochet edge (last 3 rows in back loops only). This blanket went to an internet friend for her toddler boy!
Kitty Fleece!
A kitty blanket! In more ways than one! The orange kitten was probably 10 weeks old in this picture. And in less than a year, he is the biggest cat I own. He is a HUGE orange tom cat. With a lot of personality. So much personality, in fact, that he drives us all nuts. Oh, and he has allergies, and sneezes all the time.
The blanket is pretty self explanatory... straight edge stitch in light and dark pink. I know the edging doesn't look very fancy, but the straight single crochet stitch can be done easily around a house full of children, animals, and football. : ) This blanket was donated to Project Linus.
Little Lambs
Sheep fleece, with variegated pink/white/blue baby yarn. I don't remember the pattern to this one, but it looks just like a basic shell pattern. This blanket was donated to Project Linus.
Baby Blue
This is plain blue fleece with a straight edge. All single crocheted, but the top three rows were crocheted through the back loops only. This blanket was donated to Project Linus.
Pretty Pink
This is just a plain pink fleece baby blanket, I think I got it in the remnants area cheap. It was made using this pattern. Super easy, but cute. This blanket was given to project linus.
Thomas
Thomas the Tank fleece! These were the first two blankets I made with my edgerydoo. I love the multiple colors. For almost all of my projects, I use Caron Simply Soft yarn, with a G hook. These two blankets were a bit on the skinny side, so I gave them to an internet friend for her grandsons as "snuggle blankets".
Proud Mama!
This is my 9 yr old daughter making her blankets for project linus. She uses a single layer of fleece because she thinks the double layers are too hot. She frays, the ties the knot. Or sometimes she will fray with pinking shears and not knot them. I love my little girl! She has such a kind heart. I am very proud of her!
Floral Flannel
This is a flannel project. Sewed two pieces of flannel together, and poked holes using an ice pick, before I had the Edgerydoo. I love double layered flannel for baby blankets, heck I think they even make child and teen appropriate flannel too. But I hate hate hate sewing them together. Fleece does not fray and requires no sewing. This blanket went to Project Linus.
Nursery Babies
This is a baby project made for a woman/baby that my mom's work had "adopted" for the holidays. Took me 2 days to complete this one. I love this pattern with the orange ruffled edges. I actually went back and bought 2 more blankets worth of fleece, that I am keeping on hand for gender-neutral baby blankets. I may try a lime green edge - but I just love the orange. Not very often can I find ways to incorporate orange into my life!
I poked the holes with the Edgerydoo. It's a plastic template and awl system that help you get perfectly spaced holes to crochet through. Please ask if you have any questions about the edgerydoo - I LOVE this tool!
The pattern came from the edgerydoo site here. I love the ruffled edge this has!
Project Linus Info
Project Linus is such a wonderful charity. Quoted from their website:
"Project Linus is comprised of hundreds of local chapters and thousands of volunteers across the United States. Each volunteer and local chapter all work together to help us achieve our mission which is to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer "blanketeers." Together we have distributed over three million blankets to children in need since our inception in 1995."
I am proud to call myself a blanketeer. Blankets are given to local hospitals, homeless shelters, and emergency personnel carry them in their cars for house fires, or victims of crime. Blankets can be ANY blanket crafted with new materials. Personally, I do alot of fleece with the edges crocheted. Some people crochet or knit whole blankets. Others sew or quilt blankets. The blankets go to children 0-19, so all sizes and patterns are needed. Please contact me for more information on how to make these fleece blankets, or contact your local chapter at http://www.projectlinus.org/ to find out your area's specific needs.
Monkeys! My Fave!
I love love these red monkeys. The fleece was purchased at JoAnn's, and it came in either red or a dark blue. I went back to find more, but couldn't find any. Can't find any online either. I used my edgerydoo to poke the holes, then single crocheted + 2 chains for the foundation row. Row 1 used a straight single crochet in each sc and ch2 space. Rows 3 and 4 were single crocheted, in back loops only. This blanket will be going to project linus.
